Karpurkanti - Atap - Fine Rice Varieties
SKU Code - R0037
Notwithstanding its name, Karpurkanti has no particular likeness to Karpur (camphor). Yet, if camphor is taken implying fragrance, the name certainly has a meaning. For, like Kanakchur, and some would say more than Kamini, this rice is sweet-smelling and has a fine flavour. No wonder, confectioners making Jaynagarer Moa have a preference for it. The rest is for you to find out. It might be mentioned that though grown in the Sundarbans area, this is not a salinity-tolerant variety. The crop is sown during the monsoons and harvested in winter.
